The BeBopBrain platform was commissioned by Dr. Topun Austin from the Evelyn Perinatal Imaging Centre (EPIC) at the Rosie Hospital, Cambridge. The 3D model of the brain was created from infant ultrasound data converted into a 3D surface, rendered in Zbrush and Blender and assembled onto CSIX's own platform software developed by Mr. Nils Schaetti. Surgical close-up illustration

This illustration produced by CSIXstudios depicts the amputation of a right hand finger, originally sketched from observation during surgery. The patient suffered permanent damage to the tissues after a tree had fallen upon his hand, resulting in necrosis. This illustration is a close-up of a surgical series.

Pelvis anatomy layers

These anatomical series were commissioned by Medtronic for one of their upcoming eLearning tools on pelvic surgical approaches. The aim was to visualize the different anatomical layers one overlaying the other from a specific surgical angle. These illustrations were entirely produced in Adobe Photoshop, and were reviewed by an anatomist in order to verify anatomical accuracy.

Humeral head anatomy

This series was illustrated for Dr. Henry Colaco, from Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, for an upcoming publication on surgical techniques in orthopeadics. This illustration depicts the surface of the humeral head and the contrast between generally accepted concept of humeral head insertions versus latest findings by Mochizuki et al. (2009). This illustration was entirely produced in photoshop.

Rotator cuff tear

This series was illustrated for Dr. Henry Colaco, from Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, for an upcoming publication on surgical techniques in orthopeadics. This illustration depicts the shoulder's rotator cuff with a tear and the surrounding muscles. The tear is progressively closed and sutured. This illustration was entirely produced in photoshop.

ENT 3D model platform

The ENT3D platform was developed as part of Caitlin's MSc thesis in Dundee. She was approached by the ENT department of Ninewells Hospital NHS in order to create an alternative to juvenile cadaveric bones for ENT preoperative planning and training.

She was approached by the ENT department of Ninewells Hospital NHS in order to create a prototype of printable juvenile temporal bones to serve as alternative preop' planning and training tools. This is a models of the ossicles mounted upon the tympanic membrane. These models were created in parallel with the ENT3D platform.

Biography

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, CSIXstudios was founded by Caitlin Monney in 2016. Prior to the creation of CSIX, Caitlin has been involved with many projects across Europe and Canada, and is the official medical artist for the Journal of Hepatology and the European Association for the Study of the Liver. Caitlin is a registered medical illustration professional (RMIP), having completed her MSc in Medical Art at the University of Dundee, where she specialized in bone 3D printing and interactive 3D platform design.
