Next medical illustration of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) is a major world health problem, with more than 160 million infected worldwide. Major drug developments have occurred over the last few decades based on research of the virus’ lifecycle. Cognition used a combination of animation stills and new images to create a comprehensive lifecycle web curriculum showing the distinct steps and possible drug interventions. Created in Cinema 4D with compositing in Adobe After Effects and Illustrator.

Approximately 160 million people worldwide are infected with HCV and 60-80% of those people will develop a chronic infection. Cognition created this animation to illuminate the virus’ global health impact along with depicting the complex entry portion of its lifecycle. The assets were created and animated in Cinema 4D. Compositing and animated overlays were done in Adobe After Effects.
