Carne Griffiths graduated as an illustrator in 1995 before moving into a career in fashion and textiles. Carne created embroidery for the Coronation of the King of Tonga to working with Chanel and Alexander McQueen. His embroidery has been in films such as Valkyrie, The Last King of Scotland and the screen version of Phantom of the Opera. Carne began to work as a fine artist and illustrator in 2010, his approach to painting utilised calligraphy inks and liquids such as tea and alcohol to create layered artwork.
