Michael Vallado is a freelance illustrator located in Southern California. Michael loves telling stories that are vibrant and full of adventure, with a healthy dose of humor. His favorite stories are meaningful and inspiring, but he also loves stories that are silly and pure fun! Michael is inspired by nature, classic books, mid-century design, and world history. He's a big fan of history and fantasy, and enjoys putting the two together. His favorite thing about illustration is coming up with new characters. Michael's main experience is in children's books and middle grade novels, but he also loves animation, and aims to imbue his illustrations with the same charm and appeal that classic animated films have. He is currently working on his own graphic novel. When Michael's not drawing, he's probably reading Tolkien, going for a walk, or hanging out with his cat.
