This plant is well known for its use as a source of saffron. The illustration shows the complete plant with bulbs and roots. The study was completed in a class on botanical watercolor illustration but is suitable for trade magazines, illustrations on bulb packages, and in gardening books. It is painted in transparent watercolor on Arches paper.
