This  pair of Black-throated blue warblers is shown foraging for insect food on the undersides of the leaves of the sugar maple. Found in the deciduous forests of the Appalachains in northern New England and the northern Atlantic states, its range extends into into the southern Appalachains. The illustration was completed in transparent watercolor on Arches paper.
