Next medical illustration of Diabetic nephropathy is a form of chronic kidney disease that occurs after the kidney is exposed to persistent hyperglycemia. It affects up to 40% of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Patients are diagnosed with diabetic nephropathy when they have proteinuria and reduced glomerular filtration.  If not treated, nephropathy will progress to kidney failure, leaving treatment options of dialysis or kidney transplant.
