Paskus et al. use unbiased proteomics to determine the protein interaction networks of synaptic Kalirin-7 and Trio. They show that Kalirin-7 is an interactor and effector of Neuroligin-1, illuminating the downstream signaling mechanism of Neuroligin-1. The cover image depicts interactome diagrams transposed across the synaptic cleft, representing the subcellular localizations and interaction networks of Kalirin-7 and Trio, while highlighting transsynaptic adhesion.
