Cushing's Disease and Addison's Disease; Cushing's Disease involve an excess of cortisol, often due to a pituitary tumor or long-term steroid use. It"builds the body up" with high blood pressure, hight blood sugar, and weight gain. Addison's Disease:Involves a deficiency of cortisol and aldosterone, often due to autoimmune destruction of the adrenal glands. It "wears the body down" with low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and weight loss.
