"Thoracic pediculectomy for acute spinal cord decompression" This illustration was done for a published article in the Journal of Neurosurgery: Case Lessons. The patient is an adolescent with idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) with a right main thoracic curvature at the T7–T8 vertebrae. This piece illustrates the step-by-step Pediculectomy procedure performed on the patient of the concave apical pedicle(s) for spinal cord decompression in a high-risk spinal deformity surgery.
