It includes numerous M surface proteins (PDB 3I6G), a few E pores (PDB 5X29) and several large trimer S spikes. A few of the S spikes show a single chain in the “open” conformation, indicating readiness to bind the ACE2 surface molecule found on human alveolar lung cells. This binding mechanism is part of what has allowed the virus to infect so readily.

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Biospacific wanted a campaign that would be both memorable and interactive. A giveaway promotional package was developed that started with a signature graphic playfully depicting a molecular modeling kit assembled into the number 20. This promotion included a brochure with custom iconography designed around their product lines, and an actual molecular modeling kit was given away with the brochure and catalog, beautifully tying into the campaign.

This piece, the surgical replacement of the humeral head and the glenoid process, is part of a multistage surgical procedure. The finished work was selected for exhibition to demonstrate that line work need not be done in the traditional manner of pen and ink alone, as digital tools could be just as effective.

An ISHLT event was held in Paris, and XDx‘s theme was “Setting a New Standard”. Mid-century French advertising posters influenced the design milieu for this event, where a series of posters was developed referencing the current developments and successes of AlloMap in the marketplace and were utilized in the promotional materials given before and during the show. They were even developed into key cards for the hotel hosting the event.

In this piece, Fiona Martin shares conflicting theories about why the historic Cannery Row sardine fishery collapsed—overfishing versus decadal climate change. “Trompé l’oiel” means “eye deceiver.” It is painted with close attention to details and shadows to make the objects appear as if they are real. Blood clots are a dangerous condition that often requires a stint to be inserted into a vein. Enter Crux, a company who offers a unique filter that is easy to insert and retrieve, and has few of the risks associated other filters. Drawing on the protective essence of the product, a shield enclosure was created for the logo, and a stylized view of the product is shown tucked neatly into a vein. The innovations in the design are readily apparent, allowing the logo to be literally interpreted.
