Boletus pallidus is an edible mushroom with good resistance to insects. It was first described by Charles Christopher Frost in 1874. The mushroom was painted in its typical pale colors in transparent watercolors on Arches paper and used for a project by a private client.

Boletus chrysenteron is a rather small bolete with a pinkish tinge and a brownish cap. As shown in the illustration it stains blue when bruised making it one of the more colorful mushrooms..The illustration was executed in transparent watercolors on Arches paper for a project with a private client.
