Boletus chrysenteron is a rather small bolete with a pinkish tinge and a brownish cap. As shown in the illustration it stains blue when bruised making it one of the more colorful mushrooms..The illustration was executed in transparent watercolors on Arches paper for a project with a private client.

Cerrena unicolor is a shelf mushroom resembling the Turkeytail mushroom, but distinctive in its often green or greenish color due to algae. Spread of its spores is aided by the wood-boring horntail wasp and the parasitic ichneumon wasp. This painting was completed in transparent watercolor and used for a project by a private client.
