JOINTPROMISE project paves the way for high-volume, affordable production of entire biological joints, addressing a major socioeconomic challenge of the European ageing society.

Process of developing artificial joints

The animation shows the positioning of the sling, creation an anchor construct and fixation with white and blue sutures. The balanced tension restores the anatomical position of the thumb. Once the anchors are properly seated and tensioned, the excess suture is cut and the incision closed.
