Kissing Cells

Next medical animation of Many models and diagrams show the cell surface as stiff and unmovable barrier between cells and the outside. But imagine cell membranes are an extremely thin fluid layer of a fatty substance (lipids), which forms a barrier for water soluble molecules. In addition the membrane contains proteins, which move within the fluid all the time, transporting material across the membrane or relaying signals. In our visualisation we try to give you a glimpse of the dynamics on the cell surface.
