PROTAC stands for proteolysis-targeting chimera. A PROTAC is composed of two or three molecules and is used to induce targeted proteolysis. The use of proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) is a new technology utilizing a intracellular ubiquitin-proteasome for the removal of unwanted proteins, and is useful in cancer therapies.
